A low-power, low-noise CMOS amplifier for neural recording applications
There is a need among scientists and clinicians for low-noise low-power biosignal amplifiers capable of amplifying signals in the millihertz-to-kilohertz range while rejecting large dc offsets generated at the electrode–tissue interface. The advent of fully implantable multielectrode arrays has created the need for fully integrated micropower amplifiers. We designed and tested a novel bioamplif...
متن کاملMonolithically Integrated 10 Gb/s Fully Differential CMOS Transimpedance Preamplifier
A fully differential transimpedance amplifier has been designed and implemented in 0.18 μm standard digital CMOS technology. The parallel feedback circuit topology is adopted to broaden the bandwidth. It can operate at 10 Gb/s with the dynamic range from 25 μA up to 2.5 mA. The power consumption is only 88 mW under 2 V supply voltage.
متن کاملFully Differential CMOS Envelope Detectors for Ultra-Low Power Applications
A fully differential envelope detector (ED) operating at 2.4GHz is designed in 90nm CMOS technology. The new design uses the common-gate topology to deal with large common-mode input signals through first-order current cancellation. Thereby, a fully differential ultra-low power super-regenerative front-end is enabled. It has a measured output voltage swing of 2.8-127mV and achieves 19.6dB outpu...
متن کاملA Low Power, Low Noise Amplifier for Recording Neural Signals
Received Nov 4, 2016 Revised Jan 8, 2017 Accepted Feb 17, 2017 The design of a low power amplifier for recording EEG signals is presented. The low noise design techniques are used in this design to achieve low input referred noise that is near the theoretical limit of any amplifier using a differential pair as input stage. To record the neural spikes or local field potentials (LFP’s) the amplif...
متن کاملA Low-Voltage CMOS Buffer for RF Applications Based on a Fully-Differential Voltage-Combiner
This paper presents a new CMOS buffer circuit topology for radiofrequency (RF) applications based on a fully-differential voltage-combiner circuit, capable of operating at low-voltage. The proposed circuit uses a combination of common-source (CS) and common-drain (CD) devices. The simulation results show good levels of linearity and bandwidth. To improve total harmonic distortion (THD) a source...
